"Roots" is a movie of John Erman and J. E. Chomsky based on the book "Roots" of Alexander Palmer Aley. It recalls the author's family history -from his ancestor Kunta Kinté snatched from his village near Kumbi Bolongo to be sell as a slave. It relates 200 years of slavery from Africa to Europe and America, where the viewer is caught touched by the black characters of Kitzy or Chicken Georges and others. An interesting medium and witness for understanding and knowledge about how racism has been constructed in western countries but also how the fight for recognition is to be important for Blacks in western countries who engaged in colonization and slavery. Even if the movie doesn't entirely follow the real story in the book of Alexander Alley which received Pulitzer price and the Spingarn medal of the NAACP -Nation Association for the Advancement of Colored People - it remains an essential.
